Robots are learning to say no to humans

  If you are looking forward to a world where robots will do all the dirty and dangerous work, then you will be disappointed. Now robots are being taught how to refuse human’s orders.

  Scientists in America are trying something new like that in science fiction movies. They’re teaching robots to say no to some orders from humans when they “think” they may get hurt if they follow the orders.

  The future robot will not only know when to say no to an order from humans, but also explain why. If you tell the robot to walk off the edge of a table, it will stop walking forward and politely say, “Sorry, it is unsafe.” If you say, “It’s okay. I will catch you”, it will move on and walk.
　Scientists think robots also have the right to protect themselves. They are building cleverer robots and giving them the power to decide what to do all by themselves.
