International Day of Charity

　Do you know International Day of Charity? It is celebrated on September 5th every year. Charities all over the world help to fight disease, protect children, improve people’s lives and give hope to millions of people.

　Each international day has its own history. So does International Day of Charity. Hungarian government set it up in 2011 to honor¹ Mother Teresa who spent her whole life on charity work. In 2012, the UN made it an international holiday.

　On that day, you can take a look at the different charities in your local area to see if there are any events. If they don’t, you could organize a charity event by yourself.

　If everyone does their part to make a difference, big changes will come. Take part on September 5!
