My best friend and I

My best friend and I

　My best friend is a lovely girl called Mary. We have been friends for seven years.

　On the first day when I came to my primary school, she was the first classmate I met in the schoolyard, and she became my first deskmate. After that, we helped each other and shared everything with each other. Luckily, we have many things in common. For example, we both had long hair in the past, but now we keep hair short. We both like keeping things clean, so our desk was the cleanest in the classroom. Without doubt, we became best friends.

　Although we are so similar, there are also a lot of differences between us. For instance, I’m not as tall as her. What’s more, she is much more outgoing than me, but I’m more hard-

working, so my grades are usually better than hers. For this reason, I always help her with her schoolwork.

　Now, we become middle school students, and we can’t see each other every day but we miss each other every day. It’s said that, “A bosom friend afar brings a distant land near.”
