Kindness moves on

　One day, a poor farmer was taking a bag of rice to a town. The rice bag was on the back of his horse but it fell from the horse.

　The poor farmer quickly got off his horse. He tried to lift the rice bag. However, it was too heavy and he didn’t know what to do. He only hoped someone could give him some help.

　After a while, a man riding a horse came. He was a rich man living nearby. The poor farmer thought the man was not likely to help him. He hoped another farmer would come.

　But the rich man saw him and said to him, “You need my help, right?” And he helped the poor farmer lift the rice bag onto the horse’s back right away.

　The poor farmer felt happy and said, “Sir, how can I repay¹ you?”

　The man said, “It’s easy. When you see anyone else in trouble, do the same for him.”
