The movie is based on(基于) a true story in history. In the early 1990s, the national men’s table tennis team was at a low point. Cai Zhenhua, the head coach of the team, was ordered to form(组建) a new one, including the famous players, Liu Guoliang and Kong Linghui. After hard training, they made their way to the top again in the 1995 World Table Tennis Championships(锦标赛) in Tianjin.
