Charlie and the Chocolate Factory(《查理和巧克力工厂》)is a fun story. It’s about a boy getting a special ticket to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.Like many of Roald Dahl’s children’s books, it has had many adaptations(改编). The latest is the film Wonka(《旺卡》), a new musical story. It’s about how the young Wonka becomes a chocolate maker and got his own factory.
In the film, chocolate is a symbol of nostalgia(怀旧) and happiness. For Wonka, it makes him think of his late mother. For others, chocolate is so powerful(有影响力的) that they will do anything to have it. Even the church(教堂) and the police do bad things to get their hands on some chocolate. Dahl liked to talk about these kinds of things in his stories. He often showed the bad parts of British society(社会).
All in all, Wonka is a good film. It feels as sweet and warming as Wonka’s chocolates.
