Andrew Older is a student from Roosevelt Middle School in the US. Recently, the 13-year-old won the Honorable Mention Award at the One Earth Young Filmmakers Contest.
Older created a three-minute film, Invasive Fish in the Des Plaines River. In it, he uses maps to show how invasive(外来入侵的) goby fish came to the local river and how they are making it too crowded for other fish.
“Through this film festival, I hope to share my concern(关心) for fish,” he said.
Older loves fishing and staying outdoors(在户外). He has been an active member of the school’s fishing club. After learning about the goby fish in the club, he decided to make the film.
“I wanted to learn more about how it affected(影响) all the other fish, and what it could mean for the ecosystem(生态系统) in that area.”

In his video, Older also shared ways to help control the number of invasive fish in the river. He talked about joining fishing events to catch and eat more gobies.
