【细嚼慢咽】compare用法小结

      compare动词，意为“比较；对比”。compare with意为“与……相比”，指把两件事相比较，从中找出异同，这两件事往往是同类相比，多指比较。如：
　　If you compare his work with hers, you’ll find hers is much better.
　　要是把他俩的工作比较一下，就会发现她的工作好得多。
　　How does your computer compare with mine?
　　你的电脑和我的电脑相比怎么样呢？
　　compare to意为“将……比作……”，指把两件事物相比较的同时，发现某些方面相似的地方，这两件被比较的事物或人往往是截然不同的，即异类相比，多指比喻。如：
　　We often compare a teacher to a candle.
　　我们常把老师比喻成蜡烛。
　　Shakespeare compared the world to a stage.
　　莎士比亚把人世比作舞台。
　　compare的过去分词形式是compared，其用作状语时，无论是同类比较还是异类比较，都可以使用compared with和compared to。compared with/to意为“与……相比”，常放在句首。如：
　　Compared with/to our house, his house seems like a palace.
　　与我们的房子相比，他的房子好像一座宫殿。
