【学会守法】由whether引导宾语从句的情况

  在宾语从句中，whether和if一般情况下可互换，而在以下几种情况下，只能用whether。
　　1. 在介词之后用whether。如：
　　It all depends on whether the weather is fine.
　　这完全要看天气好不好。
　　2. 在动词不定式前用whether。如：
　　You’ll have to choose whether to buy it or not.
　　买还是不买，你得做出选择。
　　3. whether引导宾语从句且置于句首时。如：
　　Whether this is true or not，I can’t say．
　　我说不上来这是否是真的。
　　4. 引导主语从句和表语从句时用whether。如：
　　The question is whether we should go on with the work.
　　问题是我们是否应该继续进行这项工作。
　　5. 直接与 or not 连用时。如：
　　We didn’t know whether or not she was at home.
　　我们不知道她是否在家。
　　6. 引导让步状语从句时用whether。如：
　　I’ll do it whether you like it or not.
　　不管你是否喜欢，我都要做。
　　7. 若用if会引起歧义时，则用whether。如：
　　I was wondering whether you’d like to come to a party.
　　我想知道你是否愿意来参加一个聚会。
　　8. 与or连用分别引导两个从句时。如：
　　I don’t know whether Larry is wrong or Lily is wrong.
       我不知道是莱瑞错了，还是莉莉错了。
