Fantastic news for fans of Chinese animation(动画)! After a five-year wait, the second Ne Zha movie was came out.
While Ne Zha has long been a popular character in Chinese culture, the Ne Zha movie in 2019 achieved great success, with a record-breaking box office of 5 billion yuan thanks to strong word of mouth. The movie is different from the old Ne Zha movies because it provides a fresh understanding and expression of the child and his relationship with his parents.
In earlier movies of Ne Zha, the kid was often described as a rude(粗鲁的) character who was not willing to listen to his parents and lost control of himself easily. However, the 2019 Ne Zha showed us a different character who has been taken care of and educated with love and freedom by his parents. Raised and led by a patient and kind couple, Ne Zha discovers the true meaning of his life and bravely faces the challenges of his destiny(命运).

As a sequel(续集) to the 2019 original, Ne Zha 2 picks up the story from the first movie. Following a disaster(灾难) from heaven(天界), the souls(灵魂) of Ne Zha and Ao Bing are protected, but their physical bodies are destroyed. Taiyi Zhenren fixes up their bodies using a seven-colored lotus(莲花), yet the process is full of challenges. The second movie will continue the stories of the characters after these events.
