A book called A Street Cat Named Bob tells the story of a homeless man named James Bowen and his cat, Bob.
James spends his life busking(街头卖艺) on the street after he leaves his home. One day, he meets an orange street cat and adopts(收养) it, naming it “Bob”. From then on, James goes on busking with Bob. The man-cat duo(搭档) soon becomes famous. James even writes their story into books, turning from a homeless man into a famous writer in just three years after meeting Bob.
James is a nobody at first. He even has to look for food in trash cans(垃圾箱) to feed himself. What’s worse, he uses drugs(毒品), which is bad for his health. It feels like life has closed all doors for him. However, Bob’s arrival changes everything. When Bob gets hurt and needs to see the vet(兽医), James knows that he is too poor to pay for it. He decides to become hard-working for the first time in his life and performs(表现) as well as he can. Bob becomes the spark(火花) that lights James’ love for life. Their relationship shows the healing power(治愈力) of animals and the deep influence they can have on our lives.
