【同中求异】wear, put on, dress和be in

 　wear, put on, dress和be in都有“穿”的意思，但用法不同。

　　wear作为动词，意为“穿；戴”，后接clothes，shoes，hat，glasses等词汇，强调穿戴的状态。

如：

　　The little girl wears a red coat today.

　　小女孩儿今天穿着一件红色外套。

　　My uncle wears a pair of glasses.

　　我叔叔戴了一副眼镜。

　　put on着重于“穿”这一动作，即由没穿到穿这一动作的完成，意为“穿上，戴上”，后接衣服、鞋帽等。如：

　　It’s cold outside. Put on your warm coat.

　　今天外面天冷，把你的厚外套穿上。

　　His mother wants him to put on this hat.

　　他妈妈要他戴这顶帽子。

　　dress意为“给……穿衣服”，其后不接衣服、鞋帽等词汇，其宾语为人。但是短语be dressed in，后可接衣服。如：

　　Lily can dress herself.

　　莉莉自己会穿衣服了。

　　Could you dress the baby for me?

　　你能帮我给婴儿穿衣服吗？

　　All the students must be dressed in school uniform on Monday.

　　星期一所有的学生都必须穿校服。

　　be in表示“穿着、戴着”之意，指穿衣的状态。后接表示衣服或颜色的词，着重于说明服装的款式或颜色。它所构成的短语只能作表语或定语。如：

　　He is in his old clothes.

　　他穿着他的旧外套。

　　The beautiful girl in her red dress is dancing.

这个穿着红色连衣裙的漂亮女孩正在跳舞。
