Feelings

 Feelings are something that everyone has. We have different feelings as different things happen to us. Sometimes they’re good and sometimes they’re bad.

 Sometimes we feel sad, when someone we love leaves us. Sometimes we feel happy, while we are having fun playing. Sometimes we feel angry when others cheat us. Sometimes we feel scared, nervous, lonely or excited.

 It is normal to have different feelings. Everyone shouldn’t be ashamed1 of having bad feelings. The most important is what we do about our feelings. If you feel good and you are a friendly and happy person, then many people want to make friends with you. If you always feel sad, angry and want to hurt people, then you may find yourself alone a lot. We should learn to show our feelings in ways that are good to us and to others, but not in bad ways.

 Sometimes we get angry and we may hurt others or their feelings. If you are not feeling safe or scared, then you need to get help. Talk to some adults to ask for help. You have the right to feel safe at all times. And, of course, others have the right to feel safe, too. So, everyone should learn to control the strong feelings.
