Run away to live another day

　In a village, there was a large pond¹. Many fish lived in it. Of all these fish, three are best friends. They were always together, and never swam very far without their friends.

　One day, a fisherman came to this pond. When he saw so many fish swimming around, he went back and told other fishermen to come as well.

　Seeing this, the fish got worried. They didn’t want to become food.

　The wisest fish among them said. “We must find another pond and leave quickly.” While one fish agreed, the other didn’t want to leave. He felt that this pond was their home and he had many good memories there. He said, “We should not be afraid of them, for this pond is our home.”

　The other two fish tried hard to make their friend leave, but they couldn’t. So they decided to part ways and leave for a new pond. On the following day, when the fishermen arrived, they caught all the fish in the pond and took them home for a delicious meal.
