Think that you order a hot pot with vegetables and rice cakes, but you get some toys! This is the latest craze, where people play the game of play house.
In June, the Gansu Provincial Museum introduced plush versions of hot pot. Each hot pot includes six dishes, like broccoli, rice cakes, and so on. At the same time, Xi’an came up with Rong Momo. It is a popular plush toy that looked like a local food, Roujiamo.
The starter of this craze is Jellycat, a UK plush toy brand. Jellycat toys have cute eyes and warm smiles. Last September, Jellycat opened a special restaurant in New York. It didn't sell food but plush burgers. Staff cooked the toys and put them in boxes, just like real food. People loved this special experience.
This craze is called "Kidult", a word made from "kid" and "adult". It means adults who still love to play like children. As report goes, more adults are buying toys.
