There are fantasies(幻想) set in fairy tales and fantasies set in the real world. Treasure Island by Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson is a tale of a young boy like you or your classmates. It takes place in a world just like ours, but the most exciting things happen there.
Jim Hawkins, a 13-year-old British boy, learns about the treasure left on an island by the pirate Captain Flint. Later, Jim gets the chance to go on a trip with Captain Smollett to help find the treasure.
Some other people join them. One of them is a man called Long John Silver. Jim finds out that the one-legged Silver is a pirate who knows about the treasure and wants it for himself.
Later, Silver and his men take control of the ship, but then his pirates go against him too. Both Silver and Jim are caught. They are told that they will die if Silver cannot find the treasure for the pirates. Luckily, Captain Smollett and his team arrive just in time to save them.
With the treasure they have found, Jim, Silver and Captain Smollett leave the island to head home. Silver disappears with part of the treasure. At the end of the story, young Jim has grown into a man. He is wise enough to know that the sailing life is quite dangerous!
