　　wear意为“穿着，戴着”，指穿衣的状态，除了接衣服作宾语外，还可以接手套、鞋帽、首饰、眼镜等饰物。如：
　　He always wears a blue coat.
　　他总穿一件蓝外套。
　　My uncle wears a pair of glasses.
　　我叔叔戴了一副眼镜。
　　put on着重于“穿”这一动作，即由没穿到穿这一动作的完成，意为“穿上，戴上”，后接衣服、鞋帽等。如：
　　Please put on your coat.
　　请穿上你的外套。 
　　His mother wants him to put on this coat.
　　他妈妈要他穿这件外套。
　　dress可表示动作，常用人作宾语，意为“给……穿衣服”。如：
　　Lily can dress herself.
　　莉莉自己会穿衣服了。
　　Could you dress the baby for me?
　　你能帮我给婴儿穿衣服吗？
　　be in表示“穿着、戴着”之意，指穿衣的状态。后接表示衣服或颜色的词，着重于说明服装的款式或颜色。它所构成的短语只能作表语或定语。如：
　　 He is in his old clothes.
　　他穿着他的旧外套。
　　Mary is in her red dress.
　　玛丽穿着红色连衣裙。
