【同中求异】although和though

       一、although和 though的相同点
　　1. 二者都可作从属连词，引导让步状语从句，意为“虽然；尽管”。如：
　　Although he is young, he is wise.
　　他虽然年轻，但很聪明。
　　Though it was snowing, I went out.
　　虽然在下雪，我还是出去了。
　　2. 二者用作连词时不能和but连用，但可跟yet、still 等连用。如：
　　Although he lives alone, yet he is happy.=He lives alone, but he is happy. 
　　他虽然独自生活，但很愉快。
　　Though he treated her badly, she still loved him.
　　虽然他对她不好，但她依然爱着他。
　　二、although和 though的不同点
　　1. 两者都意为“虽然；尽管”并可换用，但although语气较重，且正规，多用于书面语，通常放在句首并用于正式场合。如：
　　Although it was snowing, it was not very cold.
　　虽然下着雪，但并不很冷。
　　2. 用though 时，可将强调的词前置，用于部分倒装句式中（注意：倒装后若句首是名词，名词之前不用冠词）。如：
　　Strange though it may seem, she still accepted the flowers. 
　　尽管她觉得很奇怪，还是接受了那束花。
　　Poor though he is, he is happy.
　　虽然他穷，但过得很愉快。
　　Child though he was, he did quite well.
　　他虽然是个孩子，但做得很好。
　　3. although只用作连词，而though 除作连词外，还可用作副词，意为“可是，不过”，常置于句末，句子较长时，也可置于句中。如：
　　It’s hard work, I enjoy it though. 
　　这是苦差事，可我做得颇有乐趣。
　　He did reply, though not immediately. 
　　他确实回复了，不过不是立马回复。
　　4. 在even though（即使）、as though （好像；仿佛）等固定短语中，不能使用although代替though。如：
　　Even though I fail, I’ll keep on trying. 
　　我即使失败，仍会继续尝试下去。
　　You look as though you know each other. 
　　看起来你们好像彼此认识。
